plato academy - an independent school inspired by hellenic ideals
Plato Academy emphasizes hands-on learning geared to each child’s developmental readiness. A glance around any of our classrooms is evidence of all the ingenuity and effort our teachers put into their work. Here, teachers are expected to be adaptable, flexible and creative since they must always be responsive to different learning styles. They are dedicated to supporting and challenging a child as an individual as well as a member of a group.
As an additional service to parents, children may arrive at school as early as 7:45 a.m. at no extra charge. At the end of the school day, they may stay in a reasonably priced after care program until 5:45 p.m. Students may also choose to participate in enrichment classes including Yoga, engineering legos, arts-and-crafts, cooking, music and drama for a nominal fee.
A Board of Directors governs Plato Academy. We also have a PTO that engages in creative activities that promote the philosophy of the school.
At Plato Academy, we are committed to enrolling a community of learners that is socially, religiously, ethnically and economically diverse. The academy offers partial scholarships to families in need. The academy also partners
with Greek Americans Against Breast Cancer (GAABC) to offer financial aid to students whose families have been touched by breast cancer.

Plato Academy has a 50-year tradition of achievement. The academic and personal success of our past graduates suggests that our future graduates will follow in the footsteps of the successful alumni before them.
