Maria’s professional background includes roles as a classroom teacher, curriculum planning team leader, educational consultant, and early childhood program owner. These experiences have shaped her collaborative, thoughtful approach to leadership and her strong belief in supporting educators, empowering students, and building environments where individuals and teams can grow and thrive.

Her leadership focuses on communication, curriculum and instruction, accreditation, and cultivating a positive school culture rooted in respect, creativity, and student voice. Maria values small, community-centered learning environments where students are known as individuals and encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate meaningfully, and engage with the world around them.

Maria holds an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University, as well as a B.S. in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University. She brings strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills to her work and is passionate about helping schools evolve while staying true to their core values.

In addition to her professional role, Maria has a personal connection to education as a mom. Her three sons are graduates of Plato Academy, and her daughter is a current 8th grade student, preparing for graduation.  This experience further informs her commitment to student-centered learning and strong school communities.
